Beardtongue, One-Sided

  • Description
One-Sided Beardtongue is a perennial wildflower that makes its home in the lower foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Its habitat includes mountain meadows, Ponderosa woodlands, and Pinyon-Juniper woodlands. The tubular flowers are purple and occur on just one side of the stem. The leaves are long and narrow, but the plants are taller and more robust than Narrow-Leaved Beardtongue. The flowers attract native bees and butterflies and are recommended for pollinator plantings.
